Enrique: Weight Gain

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Question: Have a 90 lbs show goat that seems to lack fat cover. We feed NTimidator right now. He is on a worming program (every 3 weeks). Our target wieght is 115 lbs. Last judge says the goat was to narrow over the top. Should I be feeding him a fat supplement or a high protien supplement?

Answer: Enrique,

Thank you for your email and for choosing HONOR Show Chow meat goat
products.

Deworming goats every 3 weeks is plenty, and actually about once per
month (every 4 weeks should be sufficient).

It also depends upon which dewormer you are using. I suggest SafeGuard. This product is very effective and very safe. It does need to be administered for 3 consecutive days.

It sounds like you are dealing with 2 separate issues:

1). Lack of body condition (cover or body fat). I suggest adding our High Octane Power Fuel at 4 to 8 ounces per day

2) a need for more muscle in the goats top. I suggest adding 8 ounces
per day of our High Octane Champion Drive.

Power Fuel is very high in energy and will add cover. Champion Drive is high in protein and will help add top shape.

Thanks again,
